Job Description

We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and passionate Entertainment Analyst to join our remote team. In this role, you will be instrumental in enhancing the discoverability and user experience of our vast content library. You will be responsible for meticulously analyzing, creating, and refining metadata and keywords for a diverse range of entertainment content, including films, TV shows, and documentaries. Your work will directly impact how our members find and engage with their next favorite story. This is a 100% remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere in the United States, with a preference for candidates in the Mountain or Pacific time zones for team alignment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze and categorize a wide array of entertainment content (films, series, documentaries) based on genre, themes, narrative elements, and target audience.
  • Develop and apply rich, accurate, and consistent metadata (e.g., cast, crew, production details, synopsis, parental guidance) across our content catalog.
  • Generate strategic keywords and search terms to optimize content discoverability within our platform.
  • Ensure adherence to internal style guides, metadata schemas, and editorial standards.
  • Perform quality control checks on existing metadata and keywords, identifying and correcting discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with content, product, and engineering teams to improve metadata tools and processes.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, popular culture, and new content releases to anticipate member search behaviors.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our metadata taxonomy and keyword strategies.

Required Skills

  • Exceptional attention to detail and a keen eye for accuracy.
  • Proven ability to analyze and categorize complex information efficiently.
  • Strong understanding of film and television genres, tropes, and industry terminology.
  • Excellent written communication skills with impeccable grammar and spelling.
  • Proficiency in using content management systems and database tools.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Film Studies, Media Production, Library Science, English, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in metadata management, content cataloging, or taxonomy development.
  • Familiarity with various digital media formats and distribution platforms.
  • Experience with data analysis tools or methodologies.
  • Multilingual abilities (especially Spanish or another major global language).
