Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Turret Truck Operator with a strong focus on Very Narrow Aisle (VNA) warehouse operations to join our dynamic team in Wesley Chapel, Florida. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in operating turret trucks to efficiently store, retrieve, and move materials within our high-bay, VNA environment. This role is crucial for maintaining inventory accuracy, optimizing warehouse space, and ensuring the smooth flow of goods. You will be responsible for adhering to strict safety protocols and contributing to a productive and organized warehouse.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate turret trucks (VNA reach trucks) safely and efficiently to pick, put away, and move products within designated aisles.
- Load and unload materials from trucks, ensuring proper handling and placement.
- Scan and log inventory movements accurately using warehouse management systems (WMS) or handheld devices.
- Perform daily pre-shift inspections of equipment and report any malfunctions or safety concerns.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to 5S principles.
- Identify and report any damaged products or discrepancies in inventory.
- Comply with all company safety policies and procedures, including wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure operational goals are met.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as needed, including general labor, packing, and sorting.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 1 year of recent, verifiable experience operating turret trucks in a Very Narrow Aisle (VNA) warehouse setting.
- Proficiency in using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and RF scanners.
- Demonstrated understanding of warehouse safety procedures and practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current forklift certification (turret truck specific a plus).
- Experience with inventory cycle counting and reconciliation.
- Basic mechanical aptitude for minor equipment troubleshooting.
