Job Description
We are seeking a meticulous and dedicated Online Transcription Assistant with a strong focus on medical and legal content to join our remote team. This is a 100% remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere while contributing to critical documentation for legal and healthcare professionals. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional listening skills, typing proficiency, and a keen eye for detail, ensuring the accurate conversion of audio recordings into written transcripts. You will play a vital role in maintaining the integrity and clarity of sensitive information, adhering to strict confidentiality and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately transcribe audio recordings of medical appointments, legal proceedings, interviews, and other professional discourse.
- Proofread and edit transcripts for grammar, punctuation, spelling, and adherence to specific style guides.
- Research medical and legal terminology, as needed, to ensure contextual accuracy.
- Manage transcription workload efficiently to meet strict deadlines and turnaround times.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and security of all sensitive information.
- Utilize transcription software and tools effectively to enhance productivity and accuracy.
- Communicate effectively with team leads regarding workload, challenges, and progress.
Required Skills
- Excellent listening comprehension and auditory discrimination skills.
- High typing speed (60+ WPM) and accuracy.
- Proficiency in English grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify errors.
- Familiarity with medical and/or legal terminology.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Proficient in using transcription software and standard office applications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of a recognized transcription program or certification.
- Previous experience (1+ year) in medical or legal transcription.
- Experience with specialized transcription platforms or EMR/EHR systems.
- Knowledge of Canadian legal procedures or healthcare regulations.
