Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HPLC Chemist – Chromatography Specialist to join our analytical laboratory team in Concord, New Hampshire. This role involves the advanced operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) systems for the analysis of pharmaceutical compounds, biologics, and other complex chemical matrices. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of chromatographic principles, method development, validation, and routine sample analysis in a fast-paced, regulated environment. You will play a critical role in ensuring data quality, instrument uptime, and contributing to innovative analytical solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate, maintain, and calibrate various HPLC and UPLC systems for routine and non-routine analysis.
- Develop, optimize, and validate new chromatographic methods for a diverse range of analytes.
- Perform complex sample preparation techniques and analyze samples according to established SOPs.
- Interpret, evaluate, and report analytical results, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory guidelines.
- Troubleshoot HPLC instrumentation and methodologies to resolve issues efficiently.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of laboratory operations, safety protocols, and quality systems.
- Maintain detailed and accurate laboratory records and documentation.
- Train junior chemists on HPLC principles and operational procedures.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience with HPLC and UPLC systems.
- Proficiency in chromatographic software (e.g., Chromeleon, Empower, ChemStation).
- Strong understanding of analytical chemistry principles, particularly separation science.
- Experience with method development, validation, and transfer.
- Excellent data interpretation, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related scientific field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or Ph.D. in a relevant scientific discipline.
- Experience working in a cGMP/GLP regulated laboratory environment.
- Knowledge of other analytical techniques (e.g., GC, LC-MS, GC-MS, FTIR).
- Experience with large molecule analysis (biologics).
- Familiarity with statistical analysis tools for data evaluation.
