Job Description
Are you ready to embrace the crisp autumn air and join a thriving local farm team? Maxey’s Farm Shop is seeking enthusiastic and diligent Pumpkin Pickers for our exciting autumn seasonal work. This role is perfect for individuals who enjoy working outdoors, are physically fit, and appreciate the satisfaction of hands-on agricultural work. As a Pumpkin Picker, you will be instrumental in harvesting thousands of pumpkins, ensuring they are picked with care and ready for our customers. This is a temporary, seasonal position offering competitive pay and a performance-based bonus for dedicated workers.
Key Responsibilities
- Carefully identify and pick ripe pumpkins from designated fields.
- Handle pumpkins with care to prevent bruising or damage during picking and transport.
- Efficiently sort pumpkins by size and quality as directed.
- Load harvested pumpkins onto trailers or into designated collection areas.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area within the pumpkin patch.
- Adhere strictly to all farm safety guidelines and procedures.
- Work collaboratively with other team members to meet daily harvesting targets.
- Assist with general field maintenance or other farm tasks as required.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including bending, lifting, and carrying.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions (rain or shine).
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail to ensure quality produce selection.
