Job Description
We are seeking a highly analytical and strategic Business Analyst to join our Strategy & Insights team. In this 100% remote role, you will be instrumental in driving data-informed decisions that shape Google’s product development, market strategy, and operational efficiency. You will leverage large datasets, conduct in-depth analysis, and translate complex findings into actionable recommendations for senior leadership. This position requires a blend of technical aptitude, business acumen, and strong communication skills. You will work cross-functionally with product managers, engineers, marketing, and sales teams to identify opportunities, evaluate performance, and forecast trends.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive market research and competitive analysis to identify strategic opportunities and threats.
- Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) and dashboards to monitor business health and product performance.
- Perform in-depth data analysis using SQL, Python, R, and other analytical tools to uncover insights and trends.
- Translate complex data findings into clear, concise, and actionable recommendations for various stakeholders, including senior leadership.
- Build financial models and forecasts to support strategic planning and investment decisions.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and sales teams to define business requirements and analytical frameworks.
- Present findings and recommendations effectively through compelling visualizations and reports.
- Drive continuous improvement in data collection, analysis methodologies, and reporting processes.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or similar strategic role.
- Strong proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker, Power BI).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to communicate complex data insights clearly to non-technical audiences.
- Solid understanding of business strategy, financial modeling, and market analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Business Analytics, Economics, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
- Experience with statistical programming languages (e.g., Python, R).
- Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and its data services (e.g., BigQuery, Data Studio).
- Experience in the technology industry, particularly with internet products or services.
- Project management certification or experience.
