Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented UPS Lab Assistant to join our scientific environment team in Palmdale, CA. In this role, you will be instrumental in supporting our research and development initiatives by maintaining laboratory equipment, assisting with experiments, and ensuring the smooth operation of our critical power systems, specifically Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS). You will work closely with scientists and engineers, providing essential technical support to facilitate groundbreaking work in a dynamic and fast-paced setting. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about science and technology, eager to contribute to significant projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment, including systems dependent on Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS).
  • Prepare samples, reagents, and solutions according to established protocols and safety guidelines.
  • Assist scientists and engineers in setting up and executing experiments, including data collection and basic analysis.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of experiments, equipment logs, and inventory.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all laboratory safety protocols and quality control standards.
  • Manage and organize laboratory supplies, chemicals, and equipment inventory.
  • Monitor and report on the operational status of critical lab infrastructure, including UPS systems.
  • Contribute to a clean and organized laboratory environment.

Required Skills

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Basic understanding of laboratory safety procedures and practices
  • Familiarity with standard laboratory equipment and techniques
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data recording
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to lift and move up to 25 lbs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in a scientific or technical field (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Engineering Technology)
  • 6-12 months of experience working in a laboratory setting
  • Basic knowledge of electrical systems and/or Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS)
  • Experience with laboratory information management systems (LIMS)
  • Ability to interpret technical manuals and follow complex instructions
