Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Respite Care Providers to join our team in University City, Philadelphia. This role offers the flexibility of short-term shifts with a competitive, high hourly rate, perfect for those looking to supplement their income or seeking a flexible schedule. As a Respite Care Provider, you will provide essential temporary relief to primary caregivers, ensuring their loved ones receive the highest quality of care and companionship. You will support clients with various needs, enabling families to take much-needed breaks with peace of mind. Key Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate and engaging companionship to clients, fostering a positive and supportive environment.
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed, including personal care, meal preparation, and light housekeeping.
- Engage clients in stimulating activities such as conversation, games, reading, and walks, tailored to their interests and abilities.
- Ensure client safety and comfort at all times, monitoring their well-being and promptly reporting any changes or concerns.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services provided and client observations.
- Follow individualized care plans diligently and adhere to all BrightStar Care policies and procedures.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with clients, their families, and BrightStar Care supervisors.
Required Skills
- Demonstrated compassion, empathy, and patience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliability and punctuality are paramount.
- Ability to adapt to various client needs and home environments.
- Basic understanding of safety protocols and client well-being.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
- Current CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a caregiving role (formal or informal).
- Certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Home Health Aide (HHA) is a plus.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Experience working with individuals with memory impairment or other specific health conditions.
