Job Description
Are you passionate about mechanics and ensuring the safety of thrilling amusement rides? Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach is offering an exciting apprenticeship opportunity for an Amusement Park Ride Mechanic. Key Responsibilities
- Assist qualified ride mechanics with routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs of amusement rides and attractions.
- Learn to identify and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues under supervision.
- Strictly adhere to all company safety protocols, industry regulations, and operational procedures.
- Document maintenance activities, inspections, and repair work accurately.
- Operate and maintain a variety of hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Participate in regular safety briefings and training sessions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in all maintenance areas.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and other park departments.
- Commit to continuous learning and professional development throughout the apprenticeship program.
Required Skills
- A strong desire to learn and pursue a career in mechanical or electrical maintenance.
- Basic understanding of how tools and simple machinery work, or a demonstrated interest in mechanics.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a methodical approach to tasks.
- An unwavering commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
- Physical stamina and capability to work in various conditions, including heights, confined spaces, and outdoors in different weather.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English at grade 4 (C) or above.
- Aptitude for practical or technical subjects.
- Any previous experience in a hands-on role, hobby, or volunteer work involving mechanical repair or maintenance.
- A genuine enthusiasm for amusement parks and providing safe, thrilling experiences.
