Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Energy Use Data Verifier to join our 100% remote team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for meticulously reviewing, verifying, and ensuring the accuracy of energy consumption data from various utility sources. This position plays a vital part in supporting our data integrity, customer billing, and energy efficiency programs. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Verify the accuracy and completeness of energy use data from smart meters, historical records, and other data sources.
- Identify discrepancies, anomalies, and potential errors in large datasets related to electricity and gas consumption.
- Utilize internal tools and systems to cross-reference data and resolve inconsistencies.
- Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., billing, customer service, IT) to investigate and rectify data issues.
- Document verification processes, findings, and resolutions thoroughly.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of data verification methodologies and tools.
- Generate reports on data quality and verification progress and present findings to stakeholders.
Required Skills
- Proven experience with data entry, data verification, or quality assurance.
- Proficiency in using spreadsheet software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets) for data analysis.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with utility billing or energy consumption data concepts.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Business, Data Science, Environmental Studies).
- Experience with SQL or other database query languages.
