Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Junior Cybersecurity Analyst with a keen interest in Artificial Intelligence to join our dynamic and innovative team. This is a fully remote position, open to candidates located anywhere in the USA. In this role, you will play a crucial part in protecting IBM and its clients from evolving cyber threats by assisting in the analysis, detection, and response to security incidents, with a specific focus on leveraging AI and machine learning tools and techniques to enhance our security posture. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in monitoring security systems and tools for alerts, anomalies, and potential security incidents.
- Perform initial triage and analysis of security events, escalating complex issues to senior analysts.
- Support the implementation and tuning of AI/ML-driven security tools to improve threat detection and response capabilities.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of security documentation, playbooks, and incident response procedures.
- Participate in vulnerability assessments and penetration testing activities, learning to identify and report security weaknesses.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and address security requirements.
- Stay current with emerging cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and AI security trends.
Required Skills
- Foundational understanding of cybersecurity principles, network protocols, and operating systems.
- Basic knowledge of AI/Machine Learning concepts and their potential applications in cybersecurity.
- Familiarity with security information and event management (SIEM) systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment and as part of a team.
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous internship or academic project experience in cybersecurity or AI.
- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation.
- Knowledge of cloud security principles (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CySA+, Google Cybersecurity Certificate).
- Experience with data analysis tools and techniques.
