Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nurse Educator to join our dynamic team. This role focuses exclusively on hospital staff training, operating on a Monday-Friday schedule. The Nurse Educator will be responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating educational programs for nursing staff and other healthcare professionals across various departments. This position is crucial in ensuring that our staff maintain the highest standards of clinical competency, stay updated with best practices, and deliver exceptional patient care. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, implement, and evaluate educational programs and curricula for nursing staff and other healthcare professionals.
- Conduct comprehensive needs assessments to identify staff learning requirements and knowledge gaps.
- Utilize a variety of instructional methods and technologies to deliver engaging and effective training sessions, workshops, and simulations.
- Serve as a clinical expert and resource for staff, providing guidance and mentorship on patient care, evidence-based practices, and professional development.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of educational programs, making adjustments as needed to ensure optimal learning outcomes.
- Maintain accurate records of staff training, competency assessments, and continuing education credits.
- Collaborate with nursing leadership, unit managers, and other departments to align educational initiatives with organizational goals and quality improvement efforts.
- Stay current with advances in nursing practice, healthcare technology, and educational methodologies.
- Participate in hospital committees and projects related to staff development, patient safety, and quality assurance.
Required Skills
- Current RN licensure in the State of Wisconsin.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) or Education preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of acute care nursing experience.
- Demonstrated experience in adult education, staff development, or clinical instruction.
- Strong knowledge of current nursing practices, clinical guidelines, and regulatory standards.
- Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in instructional design principles and educational technology.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Master's in Education (M.Ed.) with a focus on nursing education.
- Certification as a Nurse Educator (CNE) or in a clinical specialty.
- Experience with learning management systems (LMS) and e-learning content development.
- Experience in curriculum development and program evaluation for diverse healthcare settings.
- Previous experience in an academic medical center or large hospital system.
