Job Description
We are seeking highly skilled and compassionate Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) and other Specialty Professionals to join our dynamic team. This role encompasses a broad range of opportunities for Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Certified Nurse Specialists, and other specialized clinicians dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care across various medical and surgical specialties. You will play a crucial role in diagnosis, treatment, and management of patient conditions, working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to uphold Kaiser Permanente’s commitment to integrated, patient-centered care. Opportunities are available across multiple departments, allowing for diverse specialization.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive health assessments, including physical examinations and patient histories.
- Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses within the scope of practice and specialty area.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests.
- Develop and implement individualized patient care plans, including prescribing medications and therapies.
- Provide patient and family education on health conditions, treatments, and preventative care.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and professional development activities.
- Perform procedures relevant to the specialty, as credentialed.
- Serve as a clinical resource and mentor to less experienced staff.
Required Skills
- Current and unrestricted Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA) license in California.
- National certification in a relevant advanced practice specialty (e.g., FNP, AGACNP, PA-C).
- Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited program for APRNs; Bachelor's or Master's degree for PAs.
- Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and treatment skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two or more years of experience in an advanced practice role in a relevant specialty.
- Bilingual proficiency (e.g., Spanish, Mandarin).
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Experience within an integrated healthcare system.
- Certification in a sub-specialty area.
