Job Description

Join our dedicated team as a Medical Oxygen Driver, a vital role in ensuring healthcare facilities and patients receive life-sustaining medical gases. You will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of medical oxygen cylinders and related equipment to various locations throughout Plano and surrounding areas, adhering to strict safety protocols and regulatory guidelines. Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate company vehicles (Class B CDL) to transport medical oxygen cylinders and equipment to hospitals, clinics, and private residences.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment, documenting any defects or issues in compliance with DOT regulations.
  • Load and unload medical gas cylinders, ensuring proper handling, securing, and storage according to safety protocols.
  • Adhere to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, company safety policies, and medical gas handling procedures.
  • Maintain accurate delivery logs, manifest records, and complete all required paperwork precisely and on time.
  • Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, addressing inquiries professionally and courteously.
  • Conduct minor maintenance checks and report any vehicle or equipment malfunctions promptly to dispatch or supervisors.
  • Ensure all deliveries are made efficiently and on schedule, optimizing routes when necessary.

Required Skills

  • Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
  • Current DOT medical card.
  • Ability to lift and maneuver heavy cylinders (up to 75 lbs) repeatedly throughout the day.
  • Strong commitment to safety and strict adherence to all traffic and company regulations.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Basic mathematical skills for accurate record-keeping and inventory management.

Preferred Qualifications

  • HAZMAT endorsement on CDL.
  • Previous experience (1+ year) delivering medical gases or hazardous materials.
  • Familiarity with medical gas equipment and safety standards.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
