Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform general laboratory duties including cleaning glassware, sterilizing equipment, and maintaining laboratory cleanliness.
  • Prepare reagents, media, and solutions according to established protocols.
  • Assist with inventory management, stocking supplies, and organizing storage areas.
  • Dispose of chemical and biological waste in compliance with safety regulations.
  • Transport samples, materials, and equipment between labs as needed.
  • Operate and maintain basic lab equipment under supervision.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of daily tasks and completed work.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions precisely.
  • Basic computer proficiency (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Some coursework in a scientific discipline (e.g., biology, chemistry) is a plus.
  • Prior experience in a lab setting (academic or professional) is beneficial but not required.
  • Familiarity with laboratory safety procedures.
