Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Junior Porter to join our dynamic team at Hilton Manchester Deansgate. This is an outstanding opportunity for individuals eager to begin a rewarding career in the luxury hospitality sector. As a Junior Porter, you will be at the forefront of guest services, responsible for creating a positive first and lasting impression. You will play a vital role in ensuring a seamless and welcoming experience for all our guests, from assisting with luggage to providing essential information and support. Key Responsibilities
- Warmly greet and assist guests upon their arrival and departure, creating a welcoming atmosphere.
- Safely and efficiently handle guest luggage, transporting it to and from rooms and vehicles.
- Provide guests with accurate information regarding hotel services, facilities, and local attractions within Deansgate and wider Manchester.
- Assist with the delivery and collection of parcels, newspapers, and other items for guests and internal departments.
- Ensure the lobby, entrance, and luggage storage areas are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation.
- Promptly respond to guest requests, such as arranging transportation or providing additional amenities.
- Collaborate effectively with the front desk, concierge, and other hotel departments to ensure smooth operations and guest satisfaction.
- Adhere to all hotel security, health, and safety regulations and procedures.
Required Skills
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and carrying luggage (up to 25kg) and standing for extended periods.
- A proactive, positive attitude with a strong work ethic and professional appearance.
- Excellent teamwork skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
- A genuine passion for providing outstanding guest experiences.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a customer-facing role, ideally within hospitality or retail.
- Basic knowledge of Manchester city centre and local points of interest.
- A full, clean UK driving license (desirable but not essential).
- Multilingual abilities are a plus, but not required.
