Job Description
Join Home Instead as a Weekend Elderly Companion and make a profound difference in the lives of seniors in the Omaha community. This part-time social role is perfect for compassionate individuals looking to provide companionship and support to elderly clients during weekends. You will engage in uplifting activities, offer friendly conversation, and assist with light household tasks, ensuring our clients feel valued, respected, and comfortable in their homes. This role is local, requiring in-person interaction within the Omaha area.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide engaging companionship and social interaction to elderly clients.
- Assist with light housekeeping, such as tidying common areas, and prepare simple meals.
- Engage clients in hobbies, games, light exercise, or other stimulating activities.
- Run errands or provide transportation to appointments, grocery stores, or social outings (if applicable and agreed upon).
- Offer emotional support and a friendly, reassuring presence.
- Communicate effectively and regularly with clients, their families, and Home Instead staff regarding client well-being and needs.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and healthy environment for clients.
