Job Description
California State University, Fresno invites applications for part-time, flexible Adjunct Music Faculty positions in various disciplines within the Department of Music. We are seeking enthusiastic and skilled educators to teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses, contributing to our vibrant musical community. This role offers the flexibility to shape the next generation of musicians and educators while working in a supportive academic environment. We are looking for individuals with expertise in performance, theory, history, composition, education, or other specialized areas of music.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach assigned music courses at the undergraduate and/or graduate level, which may include instrumental/vocal instruction, ensemble direction, music theory, music history, composition, or music education.
- Develop and deliver engaging curriculum, lesson plans, and assessments that align with departmental and university standards.
- Maintain office hours and provide academic support and mentorship to students.
- Evaluate student performance fairly and provide constructive feedback.
- Participate in departmental meetings and activities as required, fostering collegiality and contributing to program development.
- Adhere to all university policies and procedures.
- Stay current with developments in their specific musical field and pedagogy.

- Demonstrated expertise and proficiency in a specific area of music (e.g., performance, theory, history, composition).
- Excellent pedagogical skills with the ability to effectively teach diverse student populations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or higher in Music or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
- Prior successful college-level teaching experience.
- Demonstrated professional experience or recognition in their musical field.
- Experience with various teaching methodologies, including technology-enhanced learning.
- Ability to teach multiple areas within the music curriculum.
