Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Remote Cybersecurity Data Annotator to join our innovative security tech team. In this 100% remote role, you will play a crucial part in enhancing the intelligence of our next-generation cybersecurity products by meticulously labeling and categorizing vast datasets. Your work will directly contribute to improving machine learning models that detect and prevent sophisticated cyber threats. This position requires a strong understanding of cybersecurity concepts, excellent analytical skills, and a commitment to accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately annotate and categorize cybersecurity-related data, including network traffic logs, malware samples, threat intelligence reports, and security alerts.
- Follow established guidelines and protocols for data labeling to ensure consistency and quality.
- Identify and escalate complex or ambiguous data points for clarification and review.
- Collaborate with data scientists, machine learning engineers, and threat researchers to refine annotation guidelines and improve data quality.
- Provide constructive feedback on annotation tools and processes to drive continuous improvement.
- Maintain a high level of accuracy and productivity in annotation tasks.
- Stay informed about current cybersecurity threats and trends to enhance annotation relevance.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of fundamental cybersecurity concepts (e.g., malware, phishing, network protocols, vulnerabilities).
- Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
- Proficiency with data annotation tools or similar data entry/categorization platforms.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Fluent in English with excellent written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CySA+, or equivalent.
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python) for data manipulation or automation.
- Familiarity with cloud security concepts (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Previous experience in a data annotation, data entry, or quality assurance role, particularly in tech.
