Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Shopify Product Owner to lead our developer teams. This fully remote role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of the Shopify ecosystem, agile methodologies, and proven leadership skills. You will be responsible for defining product roadmaps, prioritizing features, and ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality solutions that enhance our e-commerce platforms and drive business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Define, prioritize, and maintain the product backlog for Shopify initiatives, ensuring alignment with overall business strategy.
- Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technical development teams, translating business needs into clear, actionable user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Lead and mentor multiple developer teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
- Oversee the entire product development lifecycle from conception to launch and post-launch optimization.
- Monitor market trends, competitive landscape, and customer feedback to identify new opportunities and inform product enhancements.
- Ensure technical feasibility and business value of proposed solutions, working closely with engineering leads and architects.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and communicate progress, risks, and dependencies effectively.
- Facilitate agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner or similar role, specifically with Shopify or large-scale e-commerce platforms.
- Proven experience leading and managing multiple software development teams.
- Strong understanding of agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and tools (Jira, Confluence).
- Deep knowledge of the Shopify platform, including Liquid, APIs, app integrations, and theme development.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to define product vision, strategy, and roadmaps.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or similar product management certification.
- Experience with headless commerce architectures.
- Familiarity with UX/UI principles and user-centered design.
- Previous experience working in a fully remote environment.
