Job Description
Join Telus International as a Remote Search Engine Rater, focusing on improving the quality and relevance of Google and Bing AI search results. This flexible, contract-based role is perfect for individuals with strong analytical skills, keen attention to detail, and a deep understanding of local culture and language nuances. You will evaluate search results, ads, and other content, providing critical feedback that directly influences the performance and accuracy of leading AI systems. This is a 100% remote position, offering the flexibility to work from your home office in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal, or anywhere else within South Africa.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and evaluate search engine results for accuracy, relevance, and quality.
- Provide detailed feedback on various types of content, including web pages, images, and videos.
- Assess the usefulness and intent of user queries and the corresponding search results.
- Adhere to strict guidelines and quality standards provided by the client.
- Maintain consistency and accuracy in all evaluations to contribute to AI model improvement.
- Manage workload independently to meet daily and weekly production quotas.
Required Skills
- Fluency in English (US English standard).
- Excellent understanding of internet culture and current events.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to follow complex instructions and adapt to changing guidelines.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a personal computer.
- Comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in data annotation, content moderation, or similar evaluation roles.
- Familiarity with Google and Bing search engines and their functionalities.
- University degree or equivalent work experience.
- Experience living in or strong familiarity with the KwaZulu-Natal region.
