Job Description
We are seeking a compassionate and highly motivated Weight Loss Clinic Nurse with a strong focus on Nutrition & Wellness to join our dedicated team in Dallas, TX. This role is essential in guiding patients through their weight management journey, providing expert nursing care, personalized nutrition education, and ongoing support. The ideal candidate will be passionate about empowering patients to make sustainable lifestyle changes and improve their overall health. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, dietitians, and fitness specialists, to deliver holistic care in a supportive clinic environment. This is an on-site position.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical history, current health status, and weight loss goals.
- Provide personalized nutrition education and counseling based on individual patient needs and dietary preferences.
- Monitor patient progress, vital signs, and medication adherence, adjusting care plans as needed in collaboration with the medical team.
- Administer medications and injections as prescribed, and manage post-procedure care for weight loss interventions.
- Educate patients on healthy lifestyle modifications, exercise routines, and behavioral strategies for long-term weight management.
- Document all patient interactions, assessments, and care plans accurately and timely in electronic health records.
- Act as a patient advocate, providing emotional support and motivational coaching throughout their weight loss journey.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, dietitians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated patient care.
- Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and quality improvement initiatives.
Required Skills
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience
- Strong understanding of nutrition principles, metabolism, and weight management strategies
- Excellent patient education and counseling skills
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary clinic setting
- Demonstrated empathy, compassion, and commitment to patient well-being
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Experience in a weight loss clinic, bariatric surgery unit, or nutrition counseling setting
- Certification in Bariatric Nursing (CBN) or other relevant wellness/nutrition certifications
- Experience with health coaching or motivational interviewing techniques
