Job Description
Are you passionate about gaming and have a keen eye for detail? We are looking for an enthusiastic Junior Software Tester to join our Gaming and Interactive Media team in Missoula, Montana. This entry-level position is perfect for individuals eager to kickstart their career in the dynamic world of video game quality assurance. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality, functionality, and overall enjoyment of our next-generation titles. This hybrid role offers the flexibility of working both from our Missoula office and remotely, fostering collaboration and work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute test plans and test cases thoroughly to identify defects and inconsistencies in gaming software.
- Document, track, and retest bugs using our bug tracking system.
- Provide clear, concise, and reproducible bug reports, including steps to reproduce, expected results, and actual results.
- Collaborate closely with development teams, designers, and other QA testers to understand game features and requirements.
- Participate in daily stand-ups and team meetings to discuss testing progress and potential issues.
- Conduct ad-hoc and exploratory testing to uncover unexpected issues.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes and methodologies.
- Learn and apply various testing techniques relevant to game development.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Demonstrable passion for video games and interactive media across various genres and platforms.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal.
- Basic computer literacy and familiarity with common software applications.
- Proactive attitude and willingness to learn new technologies and tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Pursuing or completed a degree in Computer Science, Game Design, or a related field.
- Previous experience with bug tracking software (e.g., JIRA, Bugzilla).
- Familiarity with different game development stages and platforms (PC, console, mobile).
- Basic understanding of software testing principles and methodologies.
