Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and meticulous Playtester to join our team, focusing on the user experience and functionality of our advanced software applications and interactive systems. This role is crucial for identifying defects, providing detailed feedback on usability, and ensuring the highest quality for our internal and external digital products. You will work on-site at our corporate headquarters, collaborating closely with development, design, and product teams to refine and perfect the user interaction with our cutting-edge heavy equipment control systems, diagnostic tools, and simulation environments. While the title includes ‘(EA Redwood)’, this role is about applying rigorous testing methodologies to complex industrial applications, ensuring they meet the high standards expected by a global leader.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute test plans and identify software defects, glitches, and usability issues in various digital products, including simulation software, control systems, and mobile applications.
  • Provide clear, concise, and actionable bug reports, including steps to reproduce, expected results, and actual results.
  • Document and track issues using internal bug tracking systems and collaborate with engineers and designers on resolutions.
  • Offer constructive feedback on user interface, user experience, and overall gameplay/interaction flow.
  • Participate in daily stand-ups and team meetings, contributing to project discussions and progress updates.
  • Verify bug fixes and ensure the stability and quality of software releases.
  • Adhere to project timelines and deliver high-quality feedback within deadlines.
  • Contribute to the improvement of testing processes and methodologies.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in identifying, documenting, and tracking software bugs.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and test plans.
  • Basic understanding of software development life cycles (SDLC).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in quality assurance, software testing, or a similar role.
  • Familiarity with bug tracking software (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps).

  • Knowledge of industrial software, simulation environments, or heavy equipment operation is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Computer Science, Game Design, UX/UI) or equivalent practical experience.
