Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Fleet Maintenance Technician to join our team in Lincoln, NE. This role is crucial for ensuring the safety and operational efficiency of our extensive fleet of vehicles. As a Fleet Maintenance Tech, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of company vehicles, from delivery vans to tractor-trailers. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on fleet vehicles, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems using diagnostic tools and technical manuals.
  • Execute repairs on engines, transmissions, differentials, suspensions, and other vehicle components.
  • Conduct thorough inspections to identify potential issues and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies while performing duties.
  • Order and manage parts inventory necessary for vehicle repairs.
  • Collaborate with other technicians and management to ensure efficient fleet operations.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in vehicle maintenance and repair, preferably with heavy-duty vehicles or a fleet.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment and hand tools.
  • Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy components.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to all regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or vocational training in automotive or diesel technology.
  • ASE certifications (e.g., T4, T5, T8).
  • Experience working with various types of diesel and gasoline engines.
  • Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
  • Familiarity with fleet management software.
