Job Description

Are you looking for an active role where you can make a real difference to patient care? We are seeking enthusiastic and physically fit individuals to join our team as a Patient Trolley Porter. This is a demanding yet rewarding role, perfect for someone who enjoys a fast-paced environment and wants to contribute to the smooth running of a busy hospital. You’ll be instrumental in ensuring patients get to where they need to be, always with a friendly face and a reassuring presence. Key Responsibilities

  • Transport patients safely and comfortably by wheelchair, trolley, or bed to various departments within the hospital.
  • Assist clinical staff with moving and handling patients as required.
  • Ensure the timely collection and delivery of clinical and non-clinical items, including medical records, specimens, equipment, and linen.
  • Maintain cleanliness and good working order of trolleys, wheelchairs, and other portering equipment.
  • Respond promptly to requests from wards and departments, prioritizing tasks effectively.
  • Provide a compassionate and respectful service to all patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations, infection control policies, and hospital procedures.

Required Skills

  • Excellent physical fitness and stamina to perform frequent walking, lifting, and pushing.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a compassionate approach.
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Reliable, punctual, and flexible to meet the needs of a 24/7 hospital environment.
  • Basic understanding of health and safety principles.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a similar role within a healthcare or customer service environment.
  • Experience in patient handling and manual handling techniques.
  • First Aid qualification.
