Job Description

We are seeking a meticulous and dedicated Medical Symptom Annotator to join our innovative Diagnostic AI team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for accurately annotating medical data, including clinical notes, patient reports, and diagnostic images, to train and refine our advanced AI diagnostic systems. Your expertise will directly contribute to improving the precision and reliability of AI-powered diagnostic tools, ultimately enhancing patient care outcomes. This role requires a keen eye for detail, a solid understanding of medical terminology, and a passion for applying technology to solve complex healthcare challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately annotate and categorise medical symptoms, diagnoses, treatments, and other relevant clinical information from diverse data sources.
  • Work closely with AI engineers and clinical experts to understand annotation guidelines and project requirements.
  • Provide feedback on data quality and annotation tools to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Ensure data privacy and confidentiality are maintained in strict accordance with healthcare regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA principles).
  • Participate in regular calibration sessions to ensure consistency and quality across annotation efforts.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of comprehensive annotation guidelines and best practices.
  • Maintain a high level of productivity and meet project deadlines while ensuring data integrity.

Required Skills

  • Proven understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and common medical conditions.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency with data annotation tools or similar data entry systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Fluent in English, with excellent written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with clinical documentation and healthcare data formats.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field (e.g., Nursing, Biomedical Science, Health Information Management) or equivalent clinical experience.
  • Experience with natural language processing (NLP) or machine learning annotation projects.
  • Understanding of AI/ML concepts and their application in healthcare.
  • Previous experience in a data quality or data validation role.
  • Certification in medical coding or health information management.
