Job Description
As a FedEx HVAC Technician for Corporate Building Support, you will be a vital part of our facilities management team, ensuring optimal climate control and air quality across our corporate properties in Green Bay, WI. This role involves the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. You will work to maintain a comfortable and efficient environment for our employees and critical infrastructure, playing a direct role in supporting FedEx’s operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on all HVAC systems, including filters, coils, and motors.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex HVAC system malfunctions, utilizing schematics and diagnostic tools.
- Repair or replace defective equipment, components, or wiring.
- Install new HVAC units and systems as required by corporate facility upgrades or expansions.
- Monitor and adjust building management systems (BMS) for optimal performance and energy efficiency.
- Respond promptly to emergency service calls and system breakdowns.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and service history.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, building codes, and company policies.
- Collaborate with other facilities team members and external contractors.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as an HVAC Technician, preferably in a commercial or corporate setting.
- Valid EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification.
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, including refrigeration cycles, electrical systems, and controls.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing various HVAC equipment types.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree or vocational training in HVAC technology.
- Certifications from industry organizations (e.g., NATE).
- Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS) or Building Automation Systems (BAS).
- Knowledge of energy efficiency best practices and green building standards.
- Experience working with large-scale commercial HVAC systems.
