Job Description
We are seeking experienced and dedicated Tractor Trailer Operators to join our regional route team based out of Pittsburgh, PA. This role is crucial for ensuring the timely and safe delivery of goods across our regional network. You will be responsible for operating tractor-trailer equipment, adhering to all DOT regulations, and maintaining a high level of professionalism. This position offers consistent regional routes, allowing you to be home regularly, and includes excellent medical and dental benefits.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate tractor-trailer combination in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all federal, state, and local regulations.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on equipment, documenting any defects or issues.
- Transport freight between XPO Logistics terminals and customer locations within a designated regional area.
- Ensure accurate completion of all required paperwork, including logs, manifests, and delivery receipts.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other team members.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, both in the vehicle and at company facilities.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Manage time effectively to meet delivery schedules and service commitments.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years of verifiable tractor-trailer driving experience
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety protocols
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to perform physical demands of the job, including lifting and standing
Preferred Qualifications
- Hazmat endorsement
- Tanker endorsement
- Experience with LTL freight operations
- Proficiency with electronic logging devices (ELDs)
