Job Description
We are seeking a highly analytical and passionate Retail Data Analyst to join our dynamic AI team, with a specific focus on pricing and discount strategies. In this crucial role, you will leverage advanced data analytics techniques and contribute to the development and optimization of AI models that drive our competitive pricing and promotional effectiveness. You will translate complex datasets into actionable insights, helping Tesco make smarter, data-driven decisions that impact millions of customers and our bottom line. This position requires a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of retail dynamics, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze large retail datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights related to pricing, promotions, and customer behavior.
- Develop and maintain robust dashboards and reports to monitor the performance of pricing strategies and discount campaigns.
- Support the design, implementation, and evaluation of A/B tests and experiments for new pricing models and promotional offers.
- Collaborate with data scientists and machine learning engineers to refine and improve AI-driven pricing and discount algorithms.
- Provide recommendations to commercial teams on optimal pricing, promotional timing, and discount depths based on data analysis.
- Identify opportunities for data collection and process improvements to enhance the accuracy and utility of our analytical tools.
- Present findings and insights clearly and concisely to non-technical stakeholders, influencing strategic decisions.
- Stay up-to-date with industry best practices in retail analytics, AI, and pricing strategies.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable business insights.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker).
- Solid understanding of statistical methods and their application in business analysis.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical audiences.
- Proven problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing business challenges.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science).
- 2+ years of experience in a data analyst role, preferably within retail, e-commerce, or a similar fast-paced consumer-focused industry.
- Familiarity with Python or R for data analysis and statistical modeling.
- Experience with cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Understanding of machine learning concepts and their application in pricing or promotional optimization.
- Experience with large-scale data warehouses and data lakes.
