Job Description

Are you a compassionate and driven nursing student looking to gain invaluable clinical experience while completing your studies? NYU Langone Health is seeking dedicated Student Nurse Associates to join our dynamic teams in Brooklyn. This part-time position offers flexible hours designed to accommodate your academic schedule, providing you with hands-on experience in a leading healthcare setting. You will work under the direct supervision of registered nurses, assisting with patient care activities, maintaining a safe environment, and contributing to the overall well-being of our patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Registered Nurses (RNs) with direct patient care activities, including vital sign measurement, personal hygiene, and mobility assistance.
  • Document observations, care provided, and patient responses accurately and timely in the electronic health record.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe patient environment.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Monitor and report changes in patient condition to the supervising RN promptly.
  • Support patient comfort and emotional needs.
  • Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Participate in team meetings and educational opportunities as assigned.

Required Skills

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited BSN or ADN nursing program.
  • Completed at least one clinical rotation in a nursing program.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to patient-centered care and professionalism.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or in a similar healthcare support role.
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Academic standing of 3.0 GPA or higher.
