Job Description
Are you a 14-year-old teen who absolutely loves dogs and wants to spend your days making a difference in their lives? Petco in Fresno is looking for enthusiastic and responsible individuals to join our team as a Dog Daycare Aide. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience, learn about animal care, and work in a fun, active environment surrounded by furry friends. You’ll help ensure our daycare dogs have a safe, stimulating, and happy experience while they’re with us.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise dogs during play sessions, ensuring a safe and positive environment for all.
- Engage with dogs through play, petting, and positive reinforcement.
- Assist with feeding and providing fresh water to all daycare animals.
- Maintain cleanliness of daycare areas, including cleaning kennels, play yards, and common spaces.
- Monitor dog behavior and report any concerns or issues to senior staff.
- Assist with greeting pet parents during drop-off and pick-up, under supervision.
- Help with basic grooming tasks as needed, such as brushing or wiping paws.
- Learn and adhere to all safety protocols and animal care guidelines.
Required Skills
- A genuine love for dogs and all animals.
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
- Responsible and reliable with a positive attitude.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and pet parents (under supervision).
- Capable of standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 20 pounds.
- Must be 14 years old to apply.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience caring for pets (e.g., family pets, pet sitting for neighbors).
- Basic understanding of dog body language and behavior.
- Eagerness to contribute to a team and learn new skills.
