Job Description

Are you an energetic 18-year-old looking to kickstart your career with hands-on experience in the field? Terracon is seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals for an Entry-Level Field Assistant position to support our environmental and geotechnical projects. This role is perfect for young adults eager to learn about site investigations, environmental compliance, and construction support. You will work closely with experienced professionals, gaining valuable practical skills and contributing to important community and infrastructure development projects in and around Oklahoma City. This is a fantastic opportunity for those with no prior experience to enter the consulting engineering field.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist senior field technicians and engineers with various site investigation activities.
  • Help with the collection of soil, water, and air samples under supervision.
  • Operate and maintain basic field equipment (e.g., shovels, post-hole diggers, hand augers).
  • Document field observations, measurements, and data accurately.
  • Provide general labor support on job sites, including site setup and breakdown.
  • Adhere to strict safety protocols and company policies at all times.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, both in the field and company vehicles.
  • Assist with transportation of equipment and supplies to and from project sites.

Required Skills

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds frequently.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Strong work ethic and eagerness to learn.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Basic communication skills (verbal and written).

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Prior experience with outdoor work, sports, or physical labor.
  • Interest in environmental science, geology, or civil engineering.
  • Basic computer literacy.
