Job Description
We are seeking a highly dedicated and compassionate 24-Hour Caregiver to join our team in the beautiful Garden District of New Orleans. Key Responsibilities
- Provide personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting assistance.
- Assist with mobility and transfers, ensuring client safety.
- Administer medication reminders as prescribed by medical professionals.
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding, if necessary.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks, including laundry, tidying, and maintaining a clean living environment.
- Provide companionship and engaging activities, fostering mental and emotional well-being.
- Accompany clients to appointments or social outings.
- Monitor and report changes in client's health, behavior, or living conditions.
- Manage emergency situations calmly and effectively.
- Document daily care activities and observations accurately.
Required Skills
- Minimum 2 years of experience in caregiving or a related field.
- Compassionate, patient, and empathetic demeanor.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift, transfer, and assist clients with mobility.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Successful completion of a background check and drug screening.
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Ability to work independently and manage a 24-hour rotating schedule.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) qualification.
- Experience with dementia care, Alzheimer's care, or other chronic conditions.
- Previous experience in a 24-hour or live-in care setting.
- Familiarity with local community resources for seniors.
