Job Description

We are seeking a meticulous and dedicated Agricultural Data Entry Specialist to join our research team in Edinburgh. This role is crucial for maintaining the integrity and accessibility of our extensive datasets related to crop performance, soil analysis, and environmental factors. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting our scientists by ensuring accurate and timely input of critical research data. Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately input data from various sources (field notes, lab reports, digital forms) into specified databases and spreadsheets.
  • Categorise and organise agricultural data, specifically focusing on crop yields, growth parameters, soil composition, and treatment responses.
  • Perform routine data quality checks, identifying and correcting discrepancies or errors to ensure data integrity.
  • Assist in the preparation of data for analysis, collaborating with research scientists as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of all research data.
  • Document data entry procedures and contribute to the improvement of data management protocols.
  • Generate basic reports or summaries of entered data when requested.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in data entry or a similar administrative role.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic understanding of agricultural terminology or willingness to learn quickly.
