Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Records Management Specialist with a focus on Federal Agency support to join our team in Biloxi, MS. This role is crucial for ensuring the proper organization, maintenance, and disposition of vital information assets, adhering to federal regulations and best practices. While not exclusively focused on Apple systems, familiarity with diverse IT environments, including Apple’s ecosystem, is highly advantageous. The successful candidate will be instrumental in supporting a federal client, managing both electronic and physical records, and contributing to the overall information governance strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain records management policies and procedures in compliance with federal guidelines (e.g., NARA, DoD 5015.2).
- Classify, index, store, and retrieve federal records, ensuring their integrity, accessibility, and security.
- Manage the lifecycle of records from creation to disposition, including scheduling and archival processes.
- Conduct records inventories and assessments to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
- Provide expert guidance and training to federal agency staff on records management best practices, legal requirements, and system usage.
- Support the migration of records to electronic systems and ensure interoperability across various platforms, potentially including Apple-centric environments.
- Collaborate with IT and security teams to implement and maintain secure records storage solutions and data protection measures.
- Prepare reports and documentation related to records management activities and compliance status.
Required Skills
- Minimum 4 years of experience in records management, preferably within a federal agency or government contracting environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of federal records management regulations, including NARA standards and directives.
- Proficiency with Electronic Records Management Systems (ERMS) and other document management software.
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and training skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a federal security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Library Science, Information Management, Public Administration, or a related field.
- Certification in Records Management (CRM) or Federal Records Management (FRM).
- Experience with Apple operating systems (macOS, iOS) and applications in a professional or enterprise setting.
- Familiarity with information governance frameworks and data privacy regulations.
- Prior experience supporting DoD or other federal defense-related agencies.
