Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Behavioral Health Music Lead with a strong clinical focus to join our innovative team. This pivotal role will lead the development and implementation of music therapy programs within our behavioral health services, ensuring clinical efficacy and alignment with patient care goals. The successful candidate will provide direct patient care, supervise junior music therapists, contribute to program evaluation, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate music therapy into comprehensive treatment plans. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and evaluate evidence-based music therapy programs for children and adolescents in behavioral health settings.
- Provide direct clinical music therapy services to individual and group patients with a range of behavioral health needs.
- Supervise, mentor, and provide clinical guidance to junior music therapists and interns, ensuring adherence to professional standards.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to integrate music therapy into holistic treatment plans.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, develop individualized treatment goals, and document patient progress accurately.
- Contribute to research initiatives and program development aimed at advancing the field of pediatric behavioral health music therapy.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant clinical, ethical, and hospital policies and procedures.
- Participate in professional development activities and maintain board certification in music therapy.
Required Skills
- Board-Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC)
- Master's degree in Music Therapy or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in pediatric behavioral health settings
- Proven leadership and supervisory experience
- Strong understanding of child and adolescent development and psychopathology
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills
- Proficiency in various musical instruments and therapeutic techniques
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary team environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with program development and evaluation
- Published research or presentations in the field of music therapy or behavioral health
- Clinical supervision certification or equivalent training
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems
