Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Bridal Hair Assistant to join our dynamic team. This entry-level role is perfect for someone passionate about hair styling and eager to learn the art of bridal hair design. You will work closely with our lead bridal stylists, providing essential support both in the salon and on location at various wedding venues across Aberdeen and the surrounding regions. This role requires flexibility, including availability for weekend work, as most weddings take place on Saturdays and Sundays. Key Responsibilities
- Assist lead stylists with hair preparation, styling, and finishing for bridal parties.
- Prepare and organize styling kits, tools, and products for salon and on-location appointments.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of styling areas and equipment.
- Provide excellent customer service, ensuring a comfortable and positive experience for clients.
- Travel to wedding venues as part of the bridal styling team, ensuring timely arrival and setup.
- Support the lead stylist during styling sessions, including holding hair, handing tools, and applying finishing touches.
- Liaise with clients to ensure their needs are met and expectations are exceeded.
- Assist with administrative tasks related to bridal bookings, as needed.
- Continuously learn and develop skills in bridal hair techniques and trends.
Required Skills
- Basic knowledge of hair care and styling techniques (e.g., blow-drying, curling, pinning).
- Strong passion for hair styling and the bridal industry.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable and punctual, with the ability to manage time effectively.
- Professional demeanor and appearance.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work weekends and travel to various venues.
- A valid UK driving license and access to a reliable vehicle is preferred due to travel requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (even informal) in a salon, beauty, or customer service environment.
- Enrollment in or completion of a hairdressing or beauty therapy course.
- A portfolio (even small) showcasing any hair styling attempts or creations.
