Job Description
Are you passionate about making a tangible difference in your community? Goodwill Industries of North Central Florida is seeking a meticulous and dedicated Charity Donation Sorter Auditor to join our casual team in New Port Richey, FL. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the quality and integrity of donated goods, directly supporting our mission to provide job training and employment services. This position involves careful sorting, auditing, and processing of various donations, ensuring items meet quality standards for resale and ultimately generate revenue to fund our life-changing programs. This is a hands-on role requiring attention to detail, a commitment to our mission, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic retail and warehouse environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently sort and categorize a wide array of donated items, including clothing, housewares, electronics, and furniture.
- Perform quality control audits on sorted donations to ensure cleanliness, functionality, and marketability.
- Identify and remove items that do not meet quality standards or are unsuitable for resale.
- Maintain accurate records of sorted and audited inventory as required.
- Operate basic material handling equipment safely, if necessary (e.g., hand trucks, pallet jacks).
- Collaborate with team members to maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
- Adhere to all company policies, safety procedures, and quality guidelines.
- Contribute to a positive and respectful workplace culture focused on our philanthropic mission.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to stand, walk, lift, and carry items up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills for record-keeping.
- Reliable transportation to the New Port Richey location.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in retail, warehouse, or sorting environments.
- Familiarity with various types of merchandise and their quality indicators.
- Experience with inventory management systems, even basic ones.
