Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join our dynamic surgical team at Huntsville Hospital System. Key Responsibilities
- Perform pre-anesthetic assessments and evaluations of patients.
- Formulate and implement an anesthesia care plan for assigned patients.
- Administer various types of anesthesia, including general, regional, and local, under the supervision of an Anesthesiologist or independently, depending on state regulations and hospital policy.
- Monitor patients during anesthesia, adjusting anesthetic agents as necessary to maintain physiological stability.
- Manage airways, administer medications, and provide advanced life support as needed.
- Provide post-anesthesia care, including patient recovery and pain management.
- Collaborate effectively with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate and thorough patient records and documentation.
- Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives and continuing education.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
Required Skills
- Current CRNA certification by NBCRNA.
- Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Anesthesia program.
- Active, unencumbered RN license in the State of Alabama (or eligible for licensure).
- Active, unencumbered CRNA license in the State of Alabama (or eligible for licensure).
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
- Demonstrated expertise in administering all types of anesthesia.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience as a practicing CRNA, preferably in a hospital setting.
- Experience with a variety of surgical specialties, including cardiac, neuro, trauma, and pediatrics.
- Proficiency with electronic health record systems.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
