Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Cruise Ship Nurse to join our onboard medical team. This unique opportunity offers the chance to travel the world while providing essential healthcare services to guests and crew members. As a vital part of our ship’s medical department, you will be responsible for a wide range of duties, from routine check-ups and emergency response to maintaining medical records and assisting with health education. This role requires adaptability, strong clinical skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care in a dynamic maritime environment. Room and board are provided, allowing you to focus on your professional development and global adventures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to guests and crew members, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care.
  • Respond promptly to medical emergencies and critical incidents onboard, utilizing advanced life support skills as required.
  • Administer medications, vaccinations, and other treatments as prescribed by the ship's physician.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential medical records for all patients, ensuring compliance with international maritime health regulations.
  • Assist the ship's physician in daily clinic operations, including preparing examination rooms and sterilizing equipment.
  • Conduct health screenings and provide health education on various topics to promote wellness among the ship's population.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure a safe and healthy environment onboard the vessel.
  • Manage and monitor medical supplies and equipment, ensuring availability and proper functioning.
  • Participate in mandatory safety drills and training exercises.

Required Skills

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license from a recognized country.
  • Minimum of 2 years post-registration experience in an acute care setting (e.g., ER, ICU, CCU).
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
  • Proficiency in emergency care, medical assessment, and treatment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working with diverse populations.
  • Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
  • Additional certifications such as Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC).
  • Experience in a cruise ship, remote, or occupational health setting.
  • Fluency in additional languages (e.g., Spanish, French, German).
  • Familiarity with international health regulations and maritime medical guidelines.
