Job Description

Clearabee, the UK’s largest ‘man and van’ rubbish removal service, is seeking a dedicated Dumpster Loading Laborer to join our team in Darlington. As a Dumpster Loading Laborer, you will be an integral part of our operational team, responsible for the safe and efficient collection and loading of various waste materials. This role requires significant physical stamina and a commitment to adhering to strict health and safety guidelines, as well as providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently load various types of waste materials (e.g., furniture, appliances, garden waste, construction debris) into company vehicles and dumpsters.
- Operate essential equipment and tools for waste collection and disposal tasks in a safe manner.
- Ensure proper segregation and sorting of recyclable materials to support our environmental commitments.
- Interact professionally and courteously with customers on-site, providing excellent service and clear communication.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations, company policies, and procedures at all times.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of vehicles, equipment, and tools.
- Assist with other ad-hoc tasks as required by the team leader or supervisor to ensure smooth operations.
Required Skills
- Proven ability to lift and carry heavy items comfortably and safely, up to 25kg regularly.
- A strong work ethic, punctuality, and reliability are essential.
- Excellent physical fitness and stamina to perform demanding tasks throughout the day.
- Basic understanding of health and safety procedures relevant to manual labor and waste handling.
- A positive attitude and the ability to work effectively as part of a dynamic team.
- Good time management skills to ensure efficient completion of daily routes and tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in waste management, general labor, demolition, or a similar heavy lifting role is highly desirable.
- Possession of a full, clean UK driving license (Category B) would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of local recycling guidelines and waste disposal practices.
- Prior experience in a customer service role.
