Job Description

Are you passionate about video games and have a keen eye for detail? Electronic Arts is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Entry-Level Quality Control Tester to join our team in Austin, TX. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals with no prior professional experience in game testing to kickstart their career in the dynamic gaming industry. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and playability of our games, identifying bugs, and providing valuable feedback to our development teams. Key Responsibilities

  • Execute test plans and test cases to identify defects in game functionality, graphics, audio, and user interface.
  • Accurately document, track, and report bugs and glitches using our internal bug-tracking software.
  • Collaborate closely with game developers, designers, and producers to understand game features and provide constructive feedback.
  • Verify bug fixes and ensure the stability of game builds across various platforms.
  • Participate in daily team meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and upcoming tasks.
  • Contribute to improving testing processes and methodologies.

Required Skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • An undeniable passion for video games across various genres and platforms.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong observational skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with common software applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to clearly describe issues.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Some informal experience with bug reporting or quality assurance (e.g., beta testing, active forum participation).
  • Familiarity with game development cycles and methodologies (e.g., Agile).
  • Knowledge of different gaming platforms (PC, console, mobile).
  • Experience with bug tracking software (e.g., Jira, Asana) is a plus but not required.
