Job Description

Join the FedEx Corporate Logistics Team as a Dispatch Specialist and play a pivotal role in coordinating our daily operations. You will be responsible for managing the allocation and movement of vehicles and personnel, optimizing routes, and ensuring timely and efficient delivery schedules. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. You will act as a central communication point, liaising between drivers, customers, and other operational departments to resolve issues and maintain service excellence. This is an on-site role critical to our operational success in Rialto, CA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and schedule the daily dispatch of drivers and vehicles for pickup and delivery routes.
  • Monitor driver performance and location using tracking systems, providing real-time support and adjustments.
  • Optimize delivery routes to maximize efficiency, reduce fuel consumption, and ensure timely service.
  • Communicate effectively with drivers regarding schedules, route changes, and any operational issues.
  • Address and resolve customer inquiries or delivery issues promptly and professionally.
  • Maintain accurate dispatch records, logs, and reports.
  • Collaborate with warehouse and customer service teams to streamline logistics operations.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in dispatch or logistics coordination.
  • Strong geographical knowledge of the Rialto and surrounding Southern California area.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in dispatch software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
  • Ability to make quick, informed decisions under pressure.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Experience with FedEx specific dispatch systems.
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and commercial driving requirements.
  • Bilingual proficiency (English and Spanish).
