Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented International Shipping Clerk with multilingual capabilities to join our dynamic team in Wilmington, Delaware. In this critical role, you will be responsible for processing and managing international shipments, ensuring all documentation is accurate and compliant with global customs regulations. Your ability to communicate in multiple languages will be a significant asset in coordinating with international clients and partners, contributing to the seamless flow of goods across borders. Key Responsibilities

  • Process and prepare all necessary international shipping documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, customs declarations, and certificates of origin.
  • Ensure strict compliance with international shipping regulations, customs requirements, and company policies.
  • Communicate effectively with customs brokers, internal departments, and international customers regarding shipment status, requirements, and any potential issues.
  • Utilize multilingual skills to facilitate communication with non-English speaking clients and partners, resolving inquiries and ensuring clarity.
  • Accurately track and trace international shipments, providing timely updates to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Verify shipment contents against documentation, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
  • Maintain organized and accurate records of all international shipments, both physical and digital.
  • Assist with problem resolution related to international shipments, including customs clearance delays or documentation errors.
  • Stay informed on changes to international shipping laws and regulations relevant to our operations.

Required Skills

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in an administrative, logistics, or shipping role.
  • Proficiency in English and at least one additional language (e.g., Spanish, French, German, Mandarin).
  • Demonstrated strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Previous experience specifically with international shipping or customs documentation.
  • Familiarity with FedEx shipping systems and software.
  • Knowledge of Incoterms.
  • Customs brokerage license or certification.
