Job Description
Join the FedEx team as a Night Shift Package Handler and play a crucial role in our global logistics network. This vital position involves sorting, loading, and unloading packages in a fast-paced warehouse environment. Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently sort packages according to destination and shipping method.
- Load and unload packages from vehicles, containers, and conveyor belts.
- Scan packages accurately using handheld devices.
- Inspect packages for damage and report any discrepancies.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and company policies.
- Operate pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other material handling equipment as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure a safe and productive environment.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth and timely package flow.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 75 lbs (with or without mechanical assistance) and maneuver heavier packages with assistance.
- Capable of standing, walking, bending, lifting, and climbing for extended periods.
- Basic literacy skills to read labels, manifest, and instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Reliable transportation to and from the work site.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or package handling role.
- Familiarity with scanning technology and material handling equipment.
