Job Description
AdventHealth is seeking a dedicated and skilled Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner to join our dynamic team in Wesley Chapel, Florida. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including history taking and physical examinations.
- Diagnose and treat common acute illnesses and injuries in an urgent care setting.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as X-rays, EKGs, and lab work.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including medication prescriptions and referrals.
- Perform minor procedures, including suturing, splinting, and wound care.
- Educate patients and families on health conditions, preventive care, and treatment plans.
- Document all patient encounters accurately and in a timely manner within the electronic health record system.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Maintain compliance with all clinical policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
Required Skills
- Current Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license in Florida.
- Certified as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) by an accredited national certifying body.
- Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner, preferably in an urgent care, emergency medicine, or primary care setting.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and treatment skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with pediatric urgent care.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish).
- Certification in areas such as DOT physicals or occupational health.
- Proven ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
