Job Description
Join FedEx as a dedicated Shuttle Driver for short-haul routes, operating exclusively Monday to Friday. This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable and safety-conscious individual to contribute to our essential logistics operations in Lincoln, Nebraska. You will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods between FedEx facilities, ensuring timely deliveries and adherence to all company and traffic regulations. This role requires attention to detail, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work independently within a structured schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate company vehicles safely and efficiently on pre-determined short-haul routes.
- Transport freight and packages between FedEx facilities in the Lincoln area.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Ensure all cargo is properly secured before departure.
- Maintain accurate logs and records as required by company policy and DOT regulations.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company safety policies, and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and other team members.
- Assist with loading and unloading freight as needed, ensuring proper handling.
Required Skills
- Valid state driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and adherence to traffic laws.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of commercial driving experience.
- Experience with short-haul routes or shuttle operations.
- Knowledge of local routes and traffic patterns in Lincoln, Nebraska.
- CDL Class B or higher.
