Job Description
We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Flooring Edge Finisher to join our dedicated team in Hamilton. This role is crucial for ensuring the highest standard of finish on all our flooring installations, particularly focusing on edges, transitions, and detailed work. If you have a keen eye for detail, a passion for quality craftsmanship, and experience in flooring installation or finishing, we encourage you to apply. Key Responsibilities
- Perform precision cutting and trimming of flooring materials to achieve clean, seamless edges.
- Install and finish transitions, moldings, and reducers between different flooring types.
- Apply sealants, caulking, and other finishing compounds with a focus on aesthetic perfection.
- Inspect finished areas to identify and correct any imperfections, ensuring a high-quality outcome.
- Work collaboratively with the installation team to meet project deadlines and quality standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools and materials are properly cared for.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations on job sites.
- Provide expert advice and solutions for challenging finishing details.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in flooring installation or finishing, with a strong portfolio of quality work.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality craftsmanship.
- Proficiency with various hand and power tools used in flooring finishing.
- Ability to accurately measure, cut, and fit flooring materials.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot finishing challenges.
- Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy materials and work in various postures.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Valid New Zealand driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Formal qualification or apprenticeship in flooring installation or a related trade.
- Experience with a wide range of flooring materials (carpet, vinyl, laminate, timber, tiles).
- Knowledge of industry best practices and finishing techniques.
- First Aid certification.
