Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Legal Secretary to join Google’s legal department, supporting our legal professionals within a secure remote/office workspace model. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage a variety of administrative and secretarial tasks efficiently. You will play a crucial role in maintaining the smooth operation of our legal processes, assisting with document management, scheduling, and communication, both from your home office and our Southampton hub.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive administrative and secretarial support to legal professionals, including attorneys and paralegals.
  • Manage and organize legal documents, correspondence, and filings, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Schedule meetings, appointments, and travel arrangements, managing calendars effectively.
  • Prepare, proofread, and format legal documents, presentations, and reports.
  • Maintain electronic and physical filing systems in an organized and accessible manner.
  • Facilitate internal and external communications, including screening calls and managing emails.
  • Assist with legal research, litigation support, and project coordination as required.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Legal Secretary or similar administrative role within a legal environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and legal case management software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Capability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with legal terminology and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or higher in Legal Studies or a related field.
  • Legal Secretary certification.
  • Experience working within a large corporate legal department or a technology company.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace (Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides).
